Apple iOS ecosystem is known for its tight security controls, which historically made downloading online videos more complicated on iPhone compared to Android. However, with iOS 13 and later, Apple introduced native download support in Safari, making it significantly easier to save Facebook videos directly to your iPhone.
Prerequisites
iOS 13 or later (check in Settings, General, About). Safari browser strongly recommended. Sufficient storage space - HD videos can be 50-300MB depending on length.
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Copy the Video Link
Open the Facebook app. Find the video. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right of the post. Tap Copy Link. You should see a brief confirmation.
Step 2: Open Snapsaveup in Safari
This is crucial: open Safari specifically. Do not use Chrome or any in-app browser. Type snapsaveup.com in Safari address bar.
Step 3: Paste and Download
Tap the input field. Tap and hold until Paste appears. Tap Paste. Your URL appears. Tap the Download button.
Step 4: Choose Quality and Save
Select HD or SD. A download dialog appears at the top of Safari. Tap Download to confirm. The file downloads in the background.
Step 5: Find Your Video
Tap the download arrow icon in Safari address bar to see recent downloads. Or open Files app, navigate to On My iPhone, Downloads folder.
Moving to Photos App
Open Files, find the video in Downloads, tap and hold, select Save Video. It now appears in your Photos Camera Roll. Delete from Downloads to free space.
Troubleshooting
Download not starting? Make sure you use Safari, not Chrome or in-app browser. Cannot find file? Check Files app Downloads folder. Storage full? Check Settings, General, iPhone Storage. Slow download? Connect to Wi-Fi or choose SD quality.
Storage Tips
A 5-minute HD video might be 100-200MB. Download in SD when watching on phone - quality difference is minimal on small screens. Transfer to iCloud or computer regularly. Delete from Downloads after moving to Photos.
